Once upon a time long ago (in the late 90's) Forest Oaks was that new and unique neighborhood being built on the east side of US 183 Highway. It seemed like there was nothing over there except bobcats and coyotes. These days, Forest Oaks and Silver Oak are at the center of Cedar Park's new growth and development and this central location is wonderfully convenient. There are two highly rated elementary schools within the neighborhood, and middle and high schools are nearby. Shopping at 1890 Ranch is four minutes away, as well as HEB and Home Depot. Forest Oaks has two pools and a nice clubhouse area and is managed very well by a top-notch homeowners association.

Close to 1500 homes have been built in Forest Oaks and Silver Oak (not including the Silver Oak Townhomes section) between 1995-2012. Apart from 340 retro-styled homes known as Forest Oaks Village, the neighborhood is a rustic community, characteristic of this popular central Texas homebuilding style since the late 90's. 36% of the homes are over 3000sqft and there's a nice mix of elevations, sizes and floorplans throughout. Hills within the neighborhood add to its charm and character.

Prominent builders include: David Weekley, Newmark, DR Horton, Grand Haven, Legacy, Pulte, Morrison, Buffington, Kimball Hill, Hammonds, and Gehan.
